4K Stogram is a program to download and backup Instagram pictures. The app allows you to explore the popular image sharing service using hashtags, usernames, or places in order to download all the related photos. Since no actual account details, like passwords, are required to pull up Instagram accounts, any user without Instagram will be able to use the app.
As soon as you enter a username, hashtag, or location in the search bar, the app will display all the related pics and will start saving them to you PC. It doesn’t give you great choice, really. It automatically downloads absolutely all the photos and videos associated to your search, and saves them to the Pictures folder. It downloads two versions of a photo: one in Instagram’s native resolution and a thumbnail of the same pic. I checked the app’s preferences menu but there isn’t an option to disable thumbnail downloads.
Hovering over a picture will show the photo captions, the date it was published, hashtags used, among other details. You can also view a pic with your default image viewer or share it over social media. Optionally, you can log in to your Instagram account in order to download pics from private accounts that you follow.
4K Stogram is a good option for anyone who wants a quick way to batch download the entire photo feed of an Instagram account, hashtag, or location. It isn’t an Instagram client, so it does not let you comment or like photos, nor interact with other users. The app comes in a demo version that limits the number of searches; the unlocked version of the program costs of $9.95.
